ARIZONA ROAD RACERS BOARD MEETING MINUTES FROM 6/28/06 BOARD MEMBERS PRESENT David Bluestein Phil Davis steve finkelstein Sandra Fontaine Hal Gensler Norm Janoff Burke Painter Ian Thomas GUESTS PRESENT Gary Culver, Robert Huotari, Sharon Ross, Paul Ruckel The meeting was called to order at 6:35 P.M. The meeting agenda was adopted and the minutes from the previous Board Meeting were approved as read. Guest Paul Ruckel reported on his 1st Annual Grasshopper 5K Run in Moon Valley Park on 9/30/06 at 7:15 A.M. The clubs involvement with timing, advertising and assistance was discussed. TREASURERS REPORT Hal Gensler reported a current bank balance of $26,000.00 PRESIDENTS REPORT steve reported membership increased by 40 last month. CLOTHING REPORT A new line of Cool Max socks was introduced for sale at SS#3 OLD BUSINESS Planning and discussions relating to Summer Series 3,4, and 5 followed. Louis mentioned that a few age group winners were not always present to receive their awards. Requests to have them mailed later represent added expense for the club. Arrangements to pick the awards up at future races will help to alleviate this problem. Robert Huotari reported on this years Jerome Hill Climb. A new starting location at the Historic Museum will be utilized and one mile shuttle service from parking areas will be provided. The new course measures 4.6 miles. All planning for Chip Timing of the Prescott Valley Days 5K is completed and the club will also time a trail run in Prescott in early November. The High School State Cross Country meet will be chip timed by ARR in November once again. About 1600 runners are expected. Mazatzals run will also be held this year. The September elections were discussed and voting only at the election run will be permitted. Once again that is The I-Did-A-Run on September 16th at Reach 11 Recreational Facility. NEW BUSINESS Gary Culver reported on The Bradshaw Foothills Coalition. A group designed to curtail 4-wheel drive vehicle abuse in an area bounded by SR# 74, Interstate #17, Wickenburg and Prescott National Forest. These meeting are held at The Peoria Police Department and two representatives from ARR have been requested. Gary Culver will serve as our representative and steve finkelstein will be an alternate The meeting was adjourned at 8:55 P.M.
